New Musician Spotlight: Chandler Currier

This week we feature our newest member Principal Tuba Chandler Currier! Follow along as he shares his Alpine Symphony week with us 🏔️
🏡 Your Hometown: Smyrna, Tennessee!
📇 Age you started playing: 11 years old.
🎺 Why did you chose your instrument: The tuba chose me! I started playing the trombone at first, but I was mesmerized when my middle school band director played his tuba behind me during a rehearsal. (We had tuba tryouts coming up.)
🎶 Program you are looking forward to this season and why: I am so excited for Alpine Symphony, which happens to be the week that I am doing this takeover! Strauss is one of my favorite composers. Listening to his music makes me feel so passionate about the importance of what we do as classical musicians!
🦆 Hidden Talents: I can make duck sounds like donald duck xD
🏢 Favorite Nashville spot: I really do love the Schermerhorn Symphony center. It has been one of my favorite spots in Nashville since I was a pre-teen, and still is!
🍽️ I also really like the Diner, a restaurant right next to the Schermerhorn.
🐶/😻 Are you a dog or cat person: I LOVE dogs and cats! My family has a tabby cat named Polly. I really want to adopt a golden retriever or a husky!
🎤 Favorite non classical musician: I don't have a favorite because it changes all the time, but Cody Fry, who is a Nashville based artist, mixes pop with orchestra. It's epic.. AND he's coming to perform with the Nashville symphony June 25th and 26th!
